About
"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" - Benjamin Franklin

Detecting a disease early can significantly increase the chances of successful treatment. That is the core mission of BioCheckUp! Empowering you to monitor your health frequently and privately from the comfort of your own home. Allowing you to make informed decisions about when to seek professional medical advice.

I'm Akil, the founder of BioCheckUp. Having lost family and close friends to potentially treatable diseases, I've seen first hand the importance of early diagnosis. My goal is to provide a reliable home health analysis product that can accurately detect potential health issues before critical symptoms appear, giving everyone a better chance for timely intervention and successful treatment.

This website is a collection of my progress. From entrepreneurship in developing an Amazon product, to engaging with scientific literature and conference, to sharing my thoughts on current affairs and British politics.

After speaking with scientific startup founders my aim is to do a PhD to further develop my knowledge and competency. My aims:

Age 30 - Found a startup with a proof of concept device
Age 35 - Launch a commercial product that democratises health

This is a long term plan. Along the way I'll share case studies on entrepreneurs and businesses to be used as potential pathways to achieve my goal and act as lessons.
